Canada is going to welcome 1.5 million permanent residents through various categories, 465,000 in 2023, 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025. The three federal high skilled programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class, together with the Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will account for 44% of it.
Express Entry system is an on-line system managing the pool of skilled workers who wish to immigrate to Canada. Eligible candidates submit their profile,and receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Approximately every two weeks, IRCC invites candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence.

Federal Skilled Worker

The minimum requirements for application under federal skilled worker include:

Applicant must have at least one year of continuous full time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work, within last 10 years;

Applicant gets a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in all listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities;

Applicant holds Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary school certificate, diploma or degree, or the foreign education credential equal to Canadian educational standards

Federal Skilled Trade Program
The applicant must meet the following requirements:

Minimum language requirements are CLB 5 for speaking and listening, and CLB 4 for reading and writing;

During the 5 years before an application is submitted, applicants must have acquired at least 2 years of full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work in their skilled trade occupation;

There are no education requirements under this program.
The work experience the applicant should have must be under the following groups of the National Occupational Classification (NOC):

Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades
-
Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades
-
Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production
-
Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
-
Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks
-
Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Minimum language meet CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs, or CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs;
-
At least 1 year of full-time or an equal amount in part-time of skilled work experience in Canada;

There are no education requirements under this program.
