A legal resident living in China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Senegal or Vietnam can apply a study permit under the Student Direct Stream, and 80% of cases will be processed within 20 days.

 

To be eligible under this fast stream, amongst other requirements, the applicant must have paid the tuition fee of the first year of study, obtained a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD$10,000, and have a language test result on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) showing a score of 6.0 or higher in each skill (reading, writing, speaking and listening).

 

The spouse or common-law partner and dependent children may also be able to get faster processing on a visitor visa, work permit or study permit.
