Entrepreneurs who have skills and potential to build innovative businesses in Canada and create jobs for Canadians may be qualified to apply for Start-up Visa and acquire the permanent residency status in Canada.

The Canadian government will only accept up to 2750 applications per year under this program.

 

The Start-Up Visa Program links entrepreneurs with designated private Canadian angle investor groups or venture capital fund organizations. The entrepreneurs must get support from one of the designated organizations, and the latter will work with entrepreneurs and provide essential resources.

 

To be eligible to apply for a Start-up visa, the applicant needs to:

• Have a qualifying business;

• Get a letter of support from a designated organization; 

• Meet the minimum language level of CLB 5;

• Have sufficient funds to support the applicant and his/her dependent families' financial establishment in Canada
